Hello, I’m Jessica.
I am an unrepentant generalist and international Industrial Designer specializing in Color, Material & Finishes, with 20 years of experience leading teams and crafting human-centered products. My journey spans lighting, aviation, and automotive design, with the past eight years focused on CMF - where I blend sustainable materials, color science, and finishings to shape meaningful spatial experiences.
I’m passionate about guiding design from concept to fabrication, using prototyping as a tool to explore, test, and communicate ideas. With a background in Design Engineering from Valencia, and training across Spain and Italy, I approach every project with a balance of creativity and technical precision.
Based in San Francisco, you’ll often find me traveling to remote places, cooking Spanish tapas, experimenting with photography, or practicing glassblowing.
Lightship
Bringing RV to the electric age
Joining Lightship as the seventh team member from its inception, I’ve been part of an incredible journey - building both a groundbreaking product and a powerhouse team. In just nine months, we developed the first Aero Electric vehicle and unveiled it at SXSW ‘23. After an overwhelmingly successful preorder run, we moved straight into production while simultaneously building our own factory in Colorado. In December ‘24, we delivered the first Beta vehicles to a handful of owners, and now we’re ramping up for full-scale production.

Blending aerodynamics with a rugged exterior was an exciting challenge. From concept to production, I led the design direction and development for all Lightship exteriors, including the Alpha vehicle and AE1 Cosmos in Dusk Horizon and Timber Line.
CMF Interior
Entering the Lightship, you’re welcomed into a spacious interior with 360-degree windows that blend the outside in, guided by the core design principles of joy and dynamism. The aerospace-inspired headliner and flexible overhead compartment make every surface multifunctional. Sustainability, circularity, and color are central to our approach.
I designed the first interior to set our brand apart, integrating color and circularity from the Alpha to the two Founder’s Edition trim levels. We also introduced elements from the outdoor industry, a radical concept bridging nature and technology.

Producing and launching A.E.1 Cosmos in two distinctive color ways, inspired by our design pillars - joyful, dynamic, and gather. Rooted in the concept of bringing the outside in, our palette and materials are thoughtfully sourced from the outdoor industry, ensuring a seamless connection between nature and design.
Custom textiles and circular finishes
The cabin features 161 materials, with 80% being custom-designed, including thermoplastics, anodized aluminum, powder coating, up-cycled plastics, paper-based and self-healing materials, custom woven vinyl flooring, custom perforations, technical textiles with custom colors and custom circular knits, all meticulously selected for their sustainability and design impact. I also developed the exterior pairing with the interior, ensuring a seamless connection between the two. Check the cards below for more details!
Aero
A reimagined way of flying
Breathing new life into a 30-year-old Embraer, this redesign is all about perception and experience. With a roomy 48” of legroom and just 16 seats, the cabin feels exclusive and expansive. Every detail was crafted to elevate the journey - French-stitched leather, plush custom-colored carpeting, and an embossed leather ceiling that amplifies the sensation of speed. A sleek monochromatic palette shifts with curated lighting scenes, transforming the atmosphere from bright and energetic to calm and refined, making the journey to be as memorable as each destination.
NIO
EVE the vision car for NIO
The NIO EVE is a bold vision of the future—an autonomous electric concept car that blends cutting-edge AI with sustainable mobility. Designed with a sleek, futuristic exterior and a warm, inviting interior, EVE reimagines the driving experience as a seamless extension of daily life. As a Lead Designer, I focused on lighting projects that shaped the vehicle’s atmosphere, using light to enhance mood and functionality. During this time, I also began transitioning into CMF, exploring materials and finishes that bring depth, comfort, and innovation to NIO's vision car.
IDEO
All about Human Centered Design
During my time at IDEO, I had the opportunity to learn from the best, deepening my understanding of human-centered design. Beyond contributing to shorter projects and developments, I served as a bridge between the Prototyping Team and the Industrial Design Team, translating ideas into tangible forms. This role allowed me to work on diverse projects, including an amuleto for Ferrari, a voting machine designed to enhance accessibility, and the first mass-produced smart garment for Levi’s x Google, among many others.
The largest project I was involved in was with Marvin, where we explored what well-being meant to users and transformed those insights into tangible concepts, ultimately shaping the Well-Being Home. Several of these prototypes were later selected for production, becoming part of Marvin's portfolio and redefining the future of fenestration. These innovations have since won awards and continue to influence the industry.
TEAGUE
Designing through making
During my time at Teague, I led the development space for the 777X program, managing multiple projects at various stages and guiding them toward maturity for handoff to Boeing’s product development team. This space served as a hub for conceptual exploration, where we addressed key questions through physical prototypes that accelerated development. By continuously iterating and refining these prototypes, we improved functionality and feasibility while also gathering insights from airlines to better understand their needs.
As part of this work, I led the Nexus program, a lighting initiative aimed at integrating innovative lighting solutions into the cabin. To support this effort, we developed a custom testing tool - a cyclorama - a full cross-section of an aircraft made from stretched fabric. This setup allowed us to rigorously test our lighting systems and conduct extensive user research, ensuring an optimized in-cabin lighting experience. Through this approach, we pushed development further and faster, bridging the gap between conceptual design and real-world application.
