Apple Store Models

The Challenge

Building scale models for the Apple Design Team.

The Outcome

Apple models must be extremely clean and simple, moreover, several of these models required slight iterations for comparison purposes, and required a hight attention to detail. Some store locations include but were not limited to New York in both 5th Ave and upper West side, San Francisco Union Sq, Palo Alto, Shangahi, Omotesando Hills (Tokyo) and several iterations of each model.

Final Models

These final models were more durable, usually built from laser cut plexiglass parts and hand painted. The detail furniture of the final models is made out of a thin laser cut plexiglass, a gig was required to build the miniature tables. The simplicity of these shapes requires an impeccable attention to details in every step of the construction process.

Study models

They were built in 1’=16” or 1’=8” with museum card board and gator board. The furniture was represented by bass wood blocks. The facade was made with Duralar, the fins are glued with #3 glue and the metal panel details are scored, masked and painted by hand.
