Aero Seats
The Challenge
Focusing on the scalability of Aero’s fleet, Aero looked is developing and manufacture its very own seats. Inspired by the Eames molded chair, Nexus II’s soft lines and textures conformed a great design for a molded shell, enabling scalability for our fleet.
The Outcome
Other than the seat being the main point of contact for our guest, Aero understood that the seats are the longest lead item when retrofitting these ERJ jets. We partnered with a seat manufacture to produce and assemble these seats. All stake holders selected the aluminum frame and Aero’s Design focused on the ergonomics for all soft and semirigid materials. Designing it from the inside out keeping the guest comfort, weight efficiency and sustainability in mind.
Nexus II uses more sustainable upholstery methods resulting in significant fuel savings and a greener approach to flying. The SRI is projected into our dark flooring and at the same time we illuminated the seat underneath brining the attention to such a large leg room, between 41” to 43” of space providing more visibility for guest traveling with pets or when reaching out to their handbags.
Our new design passed HIC Test - Head Impact Criteria and is currently under development.

While in full development, the first set of new seats are already flying.
